Samsung Notebook 9 Pro Review

Lisa Gade reviews the Samsung Notebook 9 Pro (formerly called ATIV Book 9 Pro), Samsung’s top of the line 15.6” laptop with a 6th generation Skylake Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad core 45 watt CPU, NVIDIA GTX 950M 2GB DDR5 dedicated graphics, 4K touch screen, 8 gigs of RAM and a 256 gig M.2 SSD.

** Read our written review here:

The laptop is the more powerful and premium, though still thin and light, counterpart to the 15” Samsung Notebook 9 (non-Pro). It has unibody aluminum construction, and it weighs 4.45 lbs. (2 kg) and is 0.7” thick. The Notebook 9 Pro competes with the 15” Retina MacBook Pro, Dell XPS 15 and Asus ZenBook Pro UX501. It’s priced significantly cheaper than a similarly configured 15” MacBook Pro and XPS 15 at $1,399 to $1,499 US.

  1. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.. I'm not getting 6 hours on a single charge. Then again, I've never actually did a real test but if I had to guess it's probably closer to 4 hours. The good thing is the charger is fast at least.

  2. I wish they would have kept this style and design for their newer models that they recently released. I have this version and the 2017 notebook Pro. However, I would definitely preferred this version if it had an S Pen and was 360 compatible.

  3. Hey Lisa, I love your reviews. I end up watching your videos on products that I know I'll never get just because I enjoy your presentation of info. Any chance you'll review the newest Samsung Notebook 9 Pro?

  4. I see they up graded the regular notebook 9 for 2017
is there going to be a pro version with a
    " Touch Screen" ?

  5. Can you please review the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin? It's a little bigger and 0.6 pounds heavier, but has longer battery life, upgradeable RAM, a 128GB upgradeable SSD AND a 1TB spinning drive (could be upgraded to SSD) and more configuration options….plus it's CHEAPER AND IT'S A CONVERTIBLE!!! I'd be especially curious how these two compare side-by-side, especially since you mentioned some of the cheaper Samsung screen are actually better in some ways. Smackdown time?! Thanks Lisa! You rock!!!!

  6. Your review was pretty incredible, excellent communication across the entire video, I was really impressed with your ability to lay that all out in the tempo you did.

  7. hey lisa, for light gaming and high performance which do you think is better overall laptop, the Dell XPS13 or the SAMSUNG notebook 9PRO ?

  8. Which you be more recommanded between this one and the asus UX501vw? becaus efor the same price you could get better specs,no?

  9. How would this laptop compare against the new HP Spectre? I'm in the market for a new laptop and don't know if I should pull the trigger on the HP.

  10. Has any one in the UK found a place to buy this anywhere? I found place selling it for £1.699. Should be more like £1,299 (given $1,399 RRP) Thanks
